100% Road Tax Exemption
EVs registered until 31 December 2025 enjoy full road tax exemption
Exemption Period
Full exemption for EVs registered from 2022 to 2025. The exemption is valid for the lifetime of the vehicle's first registration.
Eligible Vehicles
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) only. Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) and Hybrids (HEV) are not eligible for the full exemption.
Documentation
Vehicle must be registered as BEV in JPJ records. AP and import documents must clearly state electric vehicle classification.
Import Duty
CBU EVs enjoy 100% import duty and excise duty exemption until 2025, making imported EVs more affordable.
